Katharine first started practicing yoga as a teenager. When living in New York City, she got hooked on yoga when she found 9 pm classes that helped her find balance after 12 hour days in consulting.
Since moving to the San Francisco bay area in 2013, Katharine teaches private clients and small groups. Her class formats include:
- Hatha/vinyasa classes on the mat (60-90 min)
- “Business Casual Yoga” that can be done in jeans, from 15-60 min
- Online classes for individuals or companies with remote employees
- Yoga outdoors in nearby parks
- Retreats on Kauai, Hawaii.
She is particularly interested in how yoga and mindfulness can help increase resilience, decrease anxiety, and reduce the incidence of repetitive stress injuries from computer-based work.
Katharine completed her RYT-200 level certification in vinyasa flow yoga in 2014 and also completed an additional 200 hour Stellarflow yoga training in 2017 with Kiki Lovelace and Michelle Cordero at Innerstellar Yoga and Pilates in Berkeley.
Katharine has also completed over 200 hours of formal meditation instruction with the Shambhala Meditation Centers in New York, San Francisco, and Berkeley and a 10-day Vipassana retreat, among many others. She currently studies meditation with Culadasa (John Yates, PhD) and Tucker Peck, PhD of Dharma Treasure and maintains a daily yoga and meditation practice.
